The film has been directed by Sidharth Malhotra of Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Salaam Namaste fame. It is for the first time that Ranbir and Priyanka will be seen on screen.

Ranbir, Priyanka compliment each other in every possible way. Priyanka plays the role of a woman based in San Francisco, while Ranbir essays the role of a boy from New York City. They meet in NYC and travel across cities.
The film has been shot entirely in the US, across many cities including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco. The story has been written by Siddharth's wife Mamta.
