Sonakshi Sinha will reportedly star in Shirish Kunder directed Joker, headlining Akshay Kumar.

Joker, touted as Bollywood's first 3D action film, is being co-produced by Kumar. Shooting for the film is reportedly scheduled to start in January 2010.

According to a Deccan Herald source, "Sonakshi is thrilled to be a part of a 3D film so early in her career. Shirish and Akshay have already briefed her on the subject."

Sonakshi made an impressive debut in Dabangg (2010), opposite Salman Khan. Since then, she has signed on to play lead opposite Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick Remake, also being directed by Kunder.
